External users are authenticated using Microsoft Entra ID B2B. You invite them as guest users by sharing the app.
For example, in a vendor portal, vendors are invited using their email. They receive an invitation, accept it, and log in using their own account. They can then access the app but only see the data shared with them. Their permissions are limited compared to internal users.
